Sparkling, firm white sand
Just a short stroll away from the Port Douglas Sands Resort is the premier beach of tropical north Queensland - Four Mile Beach. The four-mile long expanse of sparkling, firm, white sand unfolds in a gentle curve, flanked by tropical palm trees and dense vegetation conveniently masking bustling Port Douglas township from immediate view.

Sunrise on Four Mile Beach
Take in a glorious sunrise, looking out to the horizon as far as the eye can see. Look down towards your feet and marvel at the formations of the industrious Sand Bubbler Crabs. Four Mile Beach is an excellent place for kids of all ages to explore.
Historical Significance
Historically important to the early residents of Port Douglas, Four Mile Beach has previously been used as a convenient landing strip by the likes of Kingsford Smith and connected Australia with the rest of the world acting as an official air-mail gateway for letters and parcels en route to New Guinea.

Stinger Season
Four Mile Beach has a stinger net in operation during the stinger season, November to May. When the stinger net is in place, please only swim inside its protective barriers. Swimming outside the nets may expose you to unnecessary dangers. Ensure your Four Mile Beach swimming experience is a safe one by only swimming in the net during stinger season.
