More Fish than the Caribbean
There are ferent species of animals and plants in a cubic metre of the Great Barrier Reef than in any other environment in the world ? including tropical rainforests. In fact, some reefs in the Great Barrier Reef have more different fish types than in the entire Caribbean Ocean.

2,300km of Life and Colour
The Reef spans approximately 2,300 kilometres, stretching along Queensland?s coast from the northern tip of Cape York to just north of Bundaberg. The depths teem with life and colour - a virtual world away from the daily grind.
The Reef: Glorious Experience for All

Beautiful reefs, exotic fish, clear warm water and the hot sun combine to make a glorious experience. Whether you are interested in deep-sea diving among giant wrasse, or paddling in shallow water surrounded by tiny fish on the edge of a sandy cay, the Great Barrier Reef is a place you must visit.

Close Proximity
Port Douglas is one the best places to base yourself if you plan on visiting the Great Barrier Reef as it is closer in proximity to the coral than any other place on the eastern coast of Australia.
